THE CONGREGATION OF THE DAMNED

Since the beginning of time, human technology has evolved exponentially throughout the years. Inventions have fueled the development of the human race but now, it may prove to be the end of the human race and the beginning of something new. The Large Hadron Collider, the world's largest and highest-energy particle accelerated. Built to address the most fundamental questions of physics and nature, the supercollider only created more questions. After years of debate the decision was finally made to run the machine to its fully capacity. Nicknamed Project Looking Glass, the experiment began on December 21, 2012. Two days later, the world realized it had made a terrible mistake. Fire, explosions, earthquakes, tidal waves, hurricanes and tornadoes plagued the Earth, destroying much of civilization. People flocked to major cities as fortifications were built to defend themselves from Mother Nature.

Weeks later, the event that became known as "Reedemer" came to an end. Humans emerged from their underground bunkers to discover the world they once knew was now gone. The atmosphere was blackened with the ashes of civilization. Fires burned across the open plains, destroying any hopes of cultivation. Simple technology that had been taken for granted was now lost. Even the precious air was polluted and now toxic to humans. Still, some managed to prevail through the destruction and death. Those that remained of the human race began to establish themselves in the major cities -Tokyo, Toronto, London, Munich, Paris and of course, New York City. The presence of the survivors is unknown to each other. In the famed Big Apple, the humans began to rebuild and salvage what they could. Power plants were rejuvenated, sanitation and water restored. Slowly but surely, New York City was built to resemble a mere skeleton of what it once was. Amongst the ruins, there was life once more.

The humans are not alone though. Vampire could no longer remain hidden. The race managed to kill quietly in the early years of reconstruction but with their only food source dwindling and their need to feed, they were soon exposed. It didn't take long for the humans to discover their weaknesses and fashion technology to keep them at bay. Vampires grew desperate and their attacks, more brutal. To make things worse, Redeemer was hardly the only consequence of such powerful technology. A tear has been torn in the very fabric of the unknown. From another dimension came another race. Beautiful to behold and clearly ancient, these creatures were named after the majestic wings they possessed. Angels. But it was immediately clear that these were not the angels of religious folklore, no these were warriors, seeking to establish rule over the new planet they had been forced upon. To establish an empire, they required slaves and who else but the humans?

With angels taking the humans by force, the vampires are being forced to desperate measures to seek humans. And with both the angels and vampires after them, humans are forced to band together to fight off these powerful creatures. Now it's a full out war between the angels and vampires, with humans caught in the middle. The fighting between the vampire covens and the angels has created a new race. Named fallen angels, these creatures are angels that have been bitten by a powerful, aged vampire and survived the turning. With the speed of a vampire and the strength of an angel, these mysterious creatures number few but are in high demand. Any side that can sway a fallen angel to join will easily turn the tables. Yet the fallen angels seem indifferent to the raging war and refuse to choose sides. The year is 2015.
